It is a privilege to be the Executive Headteacher of The Greenfield & Hurst Drive Federation. We are a federation of two vibrant schools in the heart of Waltham Cross with a diverse community of children, parents and staff. Greenfield Nursery School is a maintained nursery which provides education for children from 2 - 4 years old. Hurst Drive Primary School provides education from 4-11 years old. 

Our school mottos are 'Grow Together, Succeed Together' & 'Success for All' so we expect the best of ourselves and the children we teach. As a dedicated and unified staff team, we strive to provide the best possible start in life for all of our children through a strong focus on early language development from the beginning of children's time with us and an ongoing focus on developing vocabulary and the confidence to speak and share thinking and ideas throughout their journey through the federation. We ensure age appropriate teaching and provision for the core skills of reading, writing and mathematics from the early years to year 6 while also ensuring we provide a rich wider curriculum in which all children can excel.  Our children are encouraged to explore, discover and question through a range of exciting learning opportunities both within and outside the classroom. We have recently introduced our learning behaviours in the primary school and this echoes our approach in early years where we seek to foster curiosity, creativity and indepence in even our youngest of children:

Our children are incredibly happy across the federation and consistently demonstrate our values of confidence, kindness, respect, community and inclusivity. We are fortunate enough to have excellent pastoral support in both schools so that we can support and help all of our children and families to feel welcome, safe and settled at Greenfield & Hurst Drive. Visitors regularly comment on the positive and welcoming atmosphere within the schools, the children's focus and the excellent attitude to learning which our children display. 

As a staff team, we embrace the idea of 'life long learning' and are always looking for ways in which to improve our own practice through training, learning from best practice, partnership working and being reflective in what we do in order to improve outcomes for children. 

Our focus is on ensuring all of our children have their individual needs met and are enabled and supported to develop the knowledge and skills so that when they leave the federation they are well prepared for the next phase of their education. We encourage all of our parents and carers to be involved in their children's learning as much as possible and to partner with us for their benefit of their children.
